On 14 March, Acne Studios releases its Spring/Summer 2019 denim range of workwear silhouettes and 90s Americana archetypes, featuring the iconic 1996 and 1997 jeans in various colours and washes, in addition to brand new patchwork styles made out of upcycled denim.
The 1996 and 1997 jeans are at the heart of the denim range – classic fits that recreate the first jeans ever created by Acne Studios. They come in a variety of washes, including pink, true black, soft black, dark, mid and light blue, marble blue and a vintage patch. The new denim jackets, similarly recreating original Acne Studios versions, include the 1998 for men and the 1999 and 2000 for women. Found in the same colours and washes as the jeans, the 1998 is a classic hip length denim jacket with relaxed shoulders, while the 1999 is slightly cropped with a boxy body and the 2000 is a longer style with soft shoulders and welt pockets at the sides. Varsity jackets, a patchwork t-shirt dress, raglan hoodies and a bucket hat round out the reused denim range, with details such as tonal colour blocking, sporty striped elasticated trims and sewn-on patches.
